•The November meeting of the Chambers County 9-1-1/EMA Board will be held at 12:30 p.m. EST, Thursday, Novbember 30 at the 911 Center on Veterans Memorial Parkway.

•The Qui Vive Civic Club will meet at 5 p.m. EST on Tuesday, December 5, at the Jane Farrar Event Center in  downtown Lanett. Please bring a gift.

•Adventure Through the Eyes of a Child. On Saturday, December 2nd from 2 to 4 p.m. EST, children pre-k and up are invited to enjoy holiday cookie making, crafts and ornaments, and storytelling including Follow the Donkey to the Stable at the Goodsell United Methodist Church fellowship hall. Parents are welcome, and admission is free. Please bring a canned good or a love offering for the Food Closet. Goodsell is located near the junction of Cherry Drive and North 6th Avenue in Lanett.

•The Chambers County Alabama Democratic Conference (ADC)  will meet on Monday, Dec. 4th at 6 pm. The meeting will be held at Goodsell United Methodist Church, 1007 North 6th Avenue, Lanett, AL. For more information, contact Dr. Randy B. Kelley, Chambers County ADC Chairman at (256) 390-1834.

•The Chambers County Human Resources Committeee will hold a meeting on Monday, December 4, 2017, at 2:45 p.m. CT and will be held in the Commission Office located at 2 South LaFayette Street in LaFayette, AL.

•Dementia Support Group is offered through Chattahoochee Hospice on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. EST.  Call 756-8043 for details.

•The Christian Service Center is open Mondays and Thursdays for food assistance from 9 AM– 1:30 PM.  To apply, you will need your current electric bill and picture ID.   The office will be taking applications for the “Filling Santa’s Sleigh” program on November 29th,  December 6th, 13th, and 20th  from 9 AM until 2 PM. You will need a picture ID, current electric bill, proof of income, and children’s birth certificates to apply.  The office is located at 5342 Cusseta Road, Lanett (in the Huguley Community).  Donations may be delivered during any of these hours.

•Chattahoochee Hospice offers monthly grief support groups on the first Thursday of each month, 1 p.m. EST at the office.  Call 756-8043 for more information.

•The Interfaith Food Closet is open Monday 9-12, Wednesday  9-12, 5:30-6:30 p.m., Tuesday 1-4, and Thursday 1-4. Will need driver license or picture ID and a current utility bill or a rent receipt if utilities are included with rent.  The purpose  of the Interfaith Food Closet is to help households with emergency food. We are supported by local foundations and 20 plus local congregations.

•The Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Program, located at 1220 Hogansville Road, Suite 400, LaGrange, provides services to help persons with disabilities obtain and maintain competitive employment. •The Disabled American Veterans service officer will fill out claims by appointment. He can be reached to schedule an appointment at 334-663-1460.

•Huguley Water, Sewer and Fire Protection Authority’s scheduled board meeting for December has been moved from the 21st to the 14th at 5 p.m., per board ruling at the October 19th meeting.

•Huguley Sobriety Alcoholics Anonymous group meets every Thursday and Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Chattahoochee Valley Clubhouse, 501 South Fifth Ave., Lanett. Twenty-four-hour help line for those suffering from alcohol addiction, 334-476-1625 or 229-296-6045.

•Beulah Senior Center, located beside Beulah High School, offers activities such as Rook, Bingo, SkipBo, public education lunch, health promotion, aid, refreshments and daily exercise from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. EDT Monday through Friday for senior citizens 60 and older.
