Hello Huguley friends, I hope you are recovered from last Thursday! I don’t know about your family, but, we had enough food for an army for Thanksgiving. We were and are so very blessed to have had as good a year as we did, even though we had some thorns along the way. Willard gave us a scare or two during the year, but is doing fine so that is great. Other than that, we had no other health scares or issues. We all have issues in our lives on a daily basis, but, we are finishing this year on a high note! All is doing well!

Happy Thanksgiving everybody! I wanted to report on at least two Gatherings that I know to place last Thursday as people were gathering to give thanks for the blessings that they’ve had over this past year. We had our family part of our family at the house on Thursday. it was the first time in a while that all of us had been together for any length of time. We gather together for the noontime hour and meal and fellowship. I would be remiss if I didn’t say something about the food that we had available Thursday.

We have some good cooks in our family that come from a long line of good cooks. We had dressing, turkey, vegetables, casseroles, desserts, pies, and great fellowship. While we were all together we made a few plans for the Christmas gathering. After we ate lunch and cleared the tables off we went outside for the fellas to play a little football and ladies and kids to be cheerleaders and to dodge the football!

We gathered around the big rocks in the front yard and made dozens and dozens of pictures! It has been a long time since we’ve had family group pictures made and I think we got some really great ones. Don’t you love the digital age? You can take 200 photos and never waste film!

The home of Raymond and Sandra Alexander was crowded with family and friends Thursday as they gathered to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. Following the meal, the young and young at heart went outside to wait for PawPaw to hook the lawn mower up to the trailer to give them a ride around the yard several…well, maybe dozens of times.

They also had a giant washing machine box to play in outside and even managed to get Raymond to play inside it! It’s always fun when you’ve got kids and grandparents that like to play to get together. Attending the day were Rodney and Beth Alexander, Jody and Elaine and Sarah Alexander, Sandy and Luke Kight, Christopher and Romie Alexander, Jaden Berry, Shelly Daughtry, Justin, Ashley, Gunner, and Waylon Alexander, Franklin and George Alexander, Jeremiah, Amber, Zeke, and Izzy Goden, and Priscilla Holloway. It’s always fun to have little people to keep you young.

I hope as you get out and about as the Christmas season is upon us that you can keep in your mind the real reason for the season. We need to remember that it is the time of the year that the birth of our Savior was born and not get lost in all the decorations, lights, gifts, and food! He is the reason for the season.
