LaFayette boys win; Troup stops Newnan

The LaFayette Bulldogs boys basketball team upped its record to 2-0 on the season after coach Obidiah Threadgill’s team posted a 71-56 win over the visiting Booker T. Washington Golden Eagles here Tuesday evening at the Dog Palace.

Corey Boston led LaFayette with a team and game-high 24 points, JaMarquez Boston-Gaines tallied 19 and Tae Burton had 11.

On Monday, LaFayette took down long-time rival Central-Coosa by a 58-47 score.

Boston-Gaines led the Bulldogs with 20 points, Boston tallied 16 and Jordan Wallace had nine.

Troup boys 71, Newnan 65

NEWNAN, Ga. — The Troup High Tigers boys basketball team (1-2) picked up its first win of the Blake Craft era here Tuesday evening after the Tigers went on the road to GHSA 7A Newnan High and defeated the Cougars by a 71-65 score.

Jay Jefferson led the Tigers with a sensational 37-point game to go with five assists while Kobe Hudson tallied 13 points and Tristian Ware chipped in with eight points and nine rebounds.
