LaFAYETTE — Mr. Carlos Burton, 40, of LaFayette passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. CST on Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Greater Poplar Springs Baptist  Church in LaFayette with the Rev. Douglas Jones Sr. and and Rev. Jerone Fannin, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Handy Cemetery in LaFayette.

Mr. Burton is survived by his wife, Shareka Burton of LaFayette; two sons, Tyler Lee of Lima, Ohio and Malik Burton of LaFayette; a daughter, Myliah Burton of LaFayette; his father, Edward Huguley of Lanett; three sisters, Sherry (Hilliard) Ware of LaFayette; China Burton of LaFayette and Theresa Sharpe of Valley; two brothers, Tyrone Burton (Rasalyn) of Atlanta and Norman Griffin of Columbus, Ga.; his mother-in-law, Shirley Hudson (Robbie) of Bowdon, Ga.; a special cousin and friend, Willie Wright Jr. and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
