VALLEY — Mr. Rudolph Hill, 91, entered the gates of Heaven and into the presence of Jesus on Sunday, December 17, 2017. Mr. Hill was preceded into Heaven by the love of his life and wife of 66 years, Raye Hamil Hill. Mrs. Hill entered the gates of Heaven just six months earlier, on June 8, 2017. Their wedding anniversary would have been December 23, so now they will never have to miss being together for even one anniversary for all of eternity.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 19 at 2 p.m. EST at Johnson-Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley with the Rev. Don Downs officiating. Burial will follow at Langdale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening, December 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. EST.

Mr. Hill his daughter, Sharon Newton; his son, Terry (Sue) Hill; his brothers Harold (Jean) Hill and Jimmy (Jimmy Sue) Hill; his wife’s twin sister, Faye Gauntt; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hill was born to the late Rev. Moses Hill and Nina Pearl Brand Hill on November 1, 1926.

Mr. Hill was a faithful member of West End Baptist Church in Valley, where he taught Sunday School for many years and also served as a deacon, including being the chairman of the deacons.

Mr. Hill was also preceded in death by his parents, Moses and Nina Hill; his sister, Ruby Hill Jones; and his brothers, Quillian Hill, Ray Hill, and Ed Hill.
