LANETT — Mr. Eugene Douglas, 89, of Lanett, Ala. passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the EAMC Lanier Nursing Home in Valley.

Mr. Douglas was born on September 7, 1928 in the Plant City community to the late Fred N. Douglas and Pauline Rogers Douglas.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Douglas; great-grandson, Kyle Michael Bray; and 12 siblings.

Mr. Douglas owned and operated the Plant City Curb Market for several years

Mr. Douglas was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed gardening.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 2 p.m. EST at Resthaven Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Elliott officiating.  No visitation is planned prior to the graveside service.

Mr. Douglas is survived by his son, Fred Douglas, Valley; daughter, Pam (Ennis) Hester, Warner Robins, Ga.; granddaughter, Elizabeth (Bob) Bray, Frisco, Texas; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Emily Bray, Frisco, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Mr. Douglas’ name to a charity of your choice.
