LANETT reports

LANETT — Four people were arrested in Lanett on Wednesday. According to Lanett Police Department reports,

Maria Berie Meriwether, 32,  of LaGrange, Ga. has been charged with three counts of failure to appear in court to answer traffic-related charges and failure to pay;

Markedrick Antavius Floyd, 35, of Valley has been charged with possession of a controlled substance;

Laraven Tejerrica Simone Huguley, 25, of Lanett has been charged with possession of marijuana, second degree, and

Mark Edward Hood, 45, of Lanett has been charged with FTA – traffic.

In incidents being investigated by Lanett officers, harassment was reported on the 100 block of North Gilmer Avenue; theft of property, fourth degree; theft of property, first degree, and possession of a forged instrument, third degree, were reported on the 1300 block of
South Gilmer Avenue, and criminal mischief, third degree, was reported on the 1300 block of South 8th Avenue.

VALLEY reports

VALLEY — An incident of duty to give information and to render aid was reported to the Valley Police Department on Wednesday. It reportedly took place on the 2300 block of Calgary Crescent.

WEST POINT reports

WEST POINT — One person was arrested in West Point on Wednesday. According to a West Point Police Department report, Joshua Stewart Simons of Lanett has been charged with shoplifting.

In incidents being investigated by West Point officers, theft was reported on East 13th Street, another theft was rep0rted on East 10th Street and an assault reported on West 3rd Avenue.

SHERIFF’S  OFFICE reports

LaFAYETTE — Three arrests were reported by the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday.

Shalonda Thomas, 34, of LaFayette has been charged with two counts of FTA – no child restraint and FTA – mutilated license;

Trae Peterson, 26, of Covington, Ga. has been charged with being a fugitive from justice, and

Jessica Pope, 30, of LaGrange, Ga. has been charged with being a fugitive from justice.
