VALLEY — The Chambers County area is filled with a number of events and recently a new one was held at the local Hampton Inn: a bridal show.
The event, held Feb. 25 from 1-4 p.m., was presented by the Hampton and Gator Media, under the supervision of Debbie Kelley and Gator Kincaid respectively.
“We had 11 local vendors there,” Kincaid said. “It was a good turnout and everyone was happy.”
Vendors included: Cakes by Debbie, Dobbs Limousine, Ms. Phine’s Bridals, House of Flowers, Amanda Lott Photography, Bailey’s BBQ, Tracie Smith Massage Therapist, Merle Norman, 3rd Ave. Boutique, Angie Spates Pampered Chef and DJ Gator Kincaid.
The most popular vendors turned out to be Cakes by Debbie and Bailey’s BBQ but Kincaid noted that all the tables were booked up.
The event was such a success that presenters are considering doing a second one in August and then continuously twice a year.
Kincaid added that they might move the event to the local community center and they already have new vendors asking to take part in the next one.
As far as attendees go, Kincaid said about 50 people showed up. This was in keeping with their expectations.
“We were a little nervous due to the rain,” he said,” but it didn’t deter anyone.”
The idea for the show came when the pair realized both nearby Auburn and LaGrange had bridal shows.
“We wanted to have one here to show off local vendors,” Kincaid said. “We want to promote the Valley area.”
He added that the area is doing better than it was a decade ago but there was a need to showcase what is here and what is going on.
“The area is growing by leaps and bounds,” Kincaid said, adding that while they were not sure they could pull the show off, they knew it would benefit the area.
“It was a huge deal,” he said.
