SHERIFF’S OFFICE reports

LaFAYETTE — Nine people were arrested in Chambers County over the weekend. According to Chambers County Sheriff’s Office reports,

Donnie McKissic, 58, of LaFayette has been charged with domestic violence – attempted strangulaton/soffocation;

James Milner, 30, of Wedowee has been charged with failure to appear in court to answer a charge of possession of marijuana, second degree;

Joann Dawson, 36, of LaFayette has been charged with driving under the influence;

Brent Scott, 26, of Lanett has been charged with FTA – three counts of child support;

Melissa Waites, 42, of Cusseta has been charged with six counts of negotiating with worthless negotiable instruments (bad checks) and failure to pay – three counts of the unlawful  distribution of a controlled substance;

Michael Tidwell, 32, of Valley has been charged with failure to comply with garbage;

Virginia Bland, 51, of Valley has been charged with failure to pay – child support;

Nancy Thrower, 60, of Roanoke, Ala. has been charged on a grand jury indictment of manslaughter;

Bennie McCard, 27, of Lanett has been charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

LANETT reports

LANETT — Four people were arrested in Lanett over the weekend. According to Lanett Police Department reports.

Randall Oregis Nakia Mackey, 26, of Valley has been charged with failure to pay – criminal trespass, third degree;

Christopher Morris Lynch, 34, of Lanett has been charged with FTP – criminal mischief, third degree;

Danny Oliver Corey, 50, of Lanett has been charged with FTA – possession of drug paraphernalia, and

Da’quarious Remaetez Johnson, 18, of Lanett has been charged with obstructing governmental operations and resisting arrest.

In incidents that were reported over the weekend, Lanett officers are investigating reports of theft of property, second degree, on the 1800 block of 68th Court SW; harassment on the 2500 block of 47th Avenue SW; domestic violence, third degree, on the 1300 block of 63rd Avenue SW; the unlawful use of a motor vehicle on the 3200 block of 44th Avenue SW; harassment on the 1700 block of 16th Avenue SW, and domestic violence, third degree,  on the 1600 block of 23rd Avenue SW.

VALLEY reports

VALLEY — One person was arrested in Valley over the weekend. According to Valley Police Department reports.

Jessica Michelle DeLong, 26, of Phenix City, Ala. has been charged with two counts of FTA – traffic.

In incidents being investigated by Valley officers, the theft of a motor vehicle was reported on the 400 block of Sydney Street; domestic violence, second degree (strangulation); reported on the 500 block of Frances Street; domestic violence, third degree – criminal mischief, and domestic violence, third degree – harassment reported on the 1000 block of County Road 271, and theft of property, fourth degree, was reported on the 1200 block of County Road 196.

WEST POINT reports

WEST POINT — An incident of theft by shoplifting was reported on East 10th Street in West Point over the weekend.
