OPELIKA, Ala. — The service celebrating the life and legacy of Reverend Willie F. Smith, Sr., 76, of Opelika, Ala., will be at 11 a.m. CDT, Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Greater Peace Baptist Church, 650 Jeter Street, Opelika, Alabama, 36801, Reverend Clifford E. Jones, pastor and officiant, and Dr. Patrick Smith, eulogist, will preside.

Reverend Smith, who passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, was born on August 15, 1941 in Monroe County, Ala.

Public viewing will be Friday, March 23, 2018, from 1 to 7 p.m. CDT. The family will receive family and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. CDT at Harris Funeral Home in Opelika.

Reverend Smith is survived by: his wife of 53 years, Carolyn B. Smith; his children, Willie Frank, Jr. of Opelika, Monique (Jerome) Gadson of McDonough, Ga. and Patrick (Johnelle)Smith of the Boston, Mass. area; four grandchildren, Imani Gadson, Nia Gadson, Gabrielle Smith and Caleb Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
