HUGULEY — Mr. Harvey Jay Waites, 58, a resident of Huguley, Ala. passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 at the UAB Hospital in Birmingham.  Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 2 p.m. EDT from Hillcrest Cemetery in Lanett with Mr. Dean Daniel officiating.  The family will receive friends at the cemetery 30 minutes prior to the service.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy H. Waites, two children, Shelly Waites and Andrew Henson (Madison); three brothers, James G. Waites (Lonnie); Jessie N. Waites, Teddy Waites; a sister, Rosa Williams; and four grandchildren, Andrew, Austin, Kylie, and Jayden.  He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Hubbard Waites; a daughter, Kelly Waites and a sister, Jean Waites Potts.

Mr. Waites was born in West Point, Ga. on February 8, 1960.  He worked for WestPoint Pepperell, Interface Flooring and ran a small motor repair business.
