VALLEY —Mr. Joel Richard Adams, 76, of Valley, Ala., passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Bethany House in Auburn, Ala.

Mr. Adams was born on April 20, 1941 in Atlanta, Ga. to the late Eldridge Decatur Adams and Georgia Mae Jordan.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Norma Jean Elrod.  He was also preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Renea Adams Clark.

Mr. Adams is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linette Adams and their three daughters, Susan Wood (Tommy Bradford) of Valley, Virginia (Sean) Jeppesen of Trophy Club, Texas, and Darlene (Rickey) Billingsley of Valley and a son in law, Keith Clark of Valley.  He had thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his brother, Nathan (Alice) Purcell of Phenix City, Ala. and his sister, Cathy Oliver of Dallas, Texas.

Mr. Adams was an active member of Happy Valley Baptist Church.  In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution to Happy Valley Baptist Church or to a charity of your choice.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 2 p.m. EDT  at the Happy Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. John Samanie officiating.  Interment will follow in the Fairfax Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 1 p.m. EDT  until the service hour at the church.
