MRS. EMILY BROWN

VALLEY — Mrs. Emily Brown, 85, of Valley, Ala. passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at her daughter’s residence.

Mrs. Brown was born on May 29, 1932 in Randolph County, Ala. to the late Early Togo Robertson and Sally Swann Robertson.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James Euclid Brown, Sr.

Mrs. Brown was the lunchroom manager for many of the West Point Schools and the Valley Junior High School.  She also worked as a seamstress for Sampleworks.

She was a member of the Shawmut First Baptist Church.

She was a lady who kept herself busy and occupied with cooking, sewing and cleaning.  She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. She loved gardening and loved her flowers.  She was truly a wonderful mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great great-grandmother who leaves a beautiful legacy behind.

She is survived by her children, Jimmy (Pam) Brown, Valley, Rene (Ricky) Traylor, Valley; sister, Peggy Brown; brothers-in-law, Edward Adamson, Casper Brown, Billy (Betty) Brown, Ford (Pat) Brown; grandchildren, Tina (Vince) Lee, Jeremy (Kristi) Brown, Jaime (Daniel) Burnham, Adam (Teel) Traylor; great-grandchildren, Ana (Chad) Milam, Allen (Lori) Lee, Aubree and Jacob Brown, Abby and Sam Hayslip, Mikayla and Eli Burnham, Sadie, A.J. and Michael Traylor; great great-grandchildren, Hudson and Braxton Lee; her wonderful caregivers, Allee Johnson, Sue Mauldin, Bobbie Hester, Michelle Warren, and the late Cornelia Billingsley.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 11 a.m. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley with interment following in Resthaven Cemetery.  The Rev. Chuck Anderson is officiating.  Her family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. EDT until the service hour.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Brown, Allen Lee, Sam Hayslip, Daniel Burnham, Chad Milam, and Vince Lee.

The family suggests that memorials be made in her memory to the Shawmut First Baptist Church.
