Mrs. Jane Hanks Moore

LANETT — Mrs. Jane Hanks Moore, 72, of Lanett, Ala. passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at the LaFayette Nursing Home in LaFayette, Ala.

Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband, Curtis Moore; her three children, Janet (Michael) Adamson, Timothy Moore and Todd (Misty) Moore; her nine grandchildren, Mallory Black, Mychaela (Matt) Ray, Jarrett Black, Joshua Adamson, Mariah (Chase) Hoppe, Dylan Moore, Devin Moore, Colden Moore, and Kendall Moore, and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Esther Hanks; her two sisters, Louise Hinton and Elizabeth Enselma; and her four brothers, James Jack Hanks, Melvin Hanks, Bobby Hanks, and Roy Hanks.

Mrs. Moore was born on September 9, 1945 in Gadsden, Ala. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shawmut.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She loved to cook, bake cakes and cookies, and enjoyed planting flowers and watching them grow.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Holmes, and the staff of LaFayette Nursing Home and Compassus Hospice for the excellent and loving care given to Jane during her stay at the nursing home.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 2 p.m. EDT  at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. Chuck Anderson officiating.  Interment will follow in Marseilles Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.  Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made in Jane’s memory to the First Baptist Church of Shawmut.
