Mrs. Yvonne Croft Masten

VALLEY —  Mrs. Yvonne Croft Masten, 75, of Valley, Ala, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at the UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Ala.

Mrs. Masten is survived by her husband, Bill Masten; her three children, Lisa (Brad Jones) Burdette of Lanett, Ala., Mona Burdette of Hawkinsville, Ga., and USN Lt. Commander Fred Masten of Suffolk, Va.; her former daughter-in-law, Heather Masten; her six grandchildren, Jessica (Austin) Kilgore, Justin (Wendy) Vallia, Christopher Messer, Jacob Masten, Andrew Masten, and Auburn Masten; her five great grandchildren, Walker Ingram, Kallen Vallia, Paisley Hutchinson, Abigail Kilgore, and Holden Messer; her brother, Walter (Doris) Croft of Valley; her step-brother, Mike Robertson of Siberia, Russia; her two nieces, Cecilia (Terry) Clark and Debra (James) Hudmon, and her nephew, Billy (Robin) Croft.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Allen Croft and Frances Vinelle Self Robertson; her step-father, Eugene Robertson; her sister, Faye Croft, and her step-brother, Henry Robertson.

Mrs. Masten was born on April 26, 1943 in Langdale, Ala. She was a member of West End Baptist Church in Valley. She was an elegant lady who loved life, lived it to its fullest, and would always help those in need. She was thoughtful, forgiving, and the best friend a husband could have.  She loved her family, her Lord, her church, and her church family.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 4 p.m. EDT at the West End Baptist Church in Valley with the Rev. Don Downs officiating.  Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Lanett. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mrs. Masten to the West End Baptist Church Building Fund, 2809 55th Street, Valley, AL 36854.
