VALLEY — Mr. Daryl Gray, 71, of Valley, Ala. passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Ga.  He was born on June 11, 1947 in Langdale, Ala. to the late Kathleen and Herbert Gray.

Mr. Gray is survived by his wife, Leah Blackstock Gray; his son, Benjamin Gray; his three siblings, Janice (Hylyard) Irvin of Prattville, Ala., Kathy (Greg) Duffey of Valley, and William (Dawn) Gray of Anderson, S.C.; his three brothers-in-law, Nathan Blackstock, Dean (Marsha) Blackstock, and James (Lynn) Johnson, and by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Gray was a member of the Shawmut Christian Church.  He was a big Auburn fan and enjoyed reading and listening to music.  He loved to have coffee and fellowship with his friends in the morning at McDonald’s. He was a kind-hearted person and a very loving husband and father.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at 2 p.m. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with interment following at Fairfax Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.  Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the EAMC Cancer Center in his memory.
