MR. Harold E. Cook

LANETT — Mr. Harold E. Cook, 80, of Lanett, Ala. passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Bethany House in Auburn.

Mr. Cook was born in Lanett on January 3, 1938 to the late James Earl Cook and Linnie Arrington Cook.

Mr. Cook was a member of the Church of the Highlands in Auburn.

Harold served honorably in the United States Air Force and worked for West Point Industries as an engineer for 50 years; he continued to work up until his final days. He was a skilled carpenter and woodworker. Harold was a loving husband of 59 years and a wonderful father and “Pop” to his grandchildren. Although we know where he is now and will see him again, he will be deeply missed by his family.

He is survived by his wife, Sonja H. Cook of Lanett; daughter Laura Adams and her husband David, of Auburn; son Jim Cook and his wife, Christy, of Smith’s Station, Ala. ; grandchildren Jordan Futrell, Jake Futrell, Josh Futrell, Joey Futrell, Sydney Cook, Avery Cook, and Josiah Cook.

A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 2 p.m. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home located at 610 South 8th Avenue, Lanett, Alabama 36863.  A private graveside service will be held following the service.  The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. EDT.
