LaFAYETTE — Mrs. Vickie McWhorter, 65, of LaFayette, Ala. died Thursday July 12, 2018 at her residence. An Alabama native, Vickie was born on January 6, 1953 to the late Ocie Cofield and the late Margaret Brazell Cofield. She was a member of the Milltown Baptist Church in Milltown, Ala.  and had retired from the Chambers County School District as the lunchroom manager at Southside Elementary School.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. CDT on Saturday July 14, 2018 at Jeff Jones Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the LaFayette City Cemetery.  Visitation was held at the funeral home on Friday from 5 until 7 p.m.

Vickie is survived by her husband of 48 years, Carl McWhorter of LaFayette; daughter Tiffany McWhorter of LaFayette, son Scott McWhorter of Beulah, sister Tammy Chambers of Wedowee, brothers Jerry Cofield and Pat Cofield, both of Valley, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She was preceded in  death  by her parents and a brother, Randy Cofield.  Pallbearers are Jared Still, Chuck Kelley, Spencer McWhorter, Cory McMullen, Jeremy Brown and Jeremy Cofield.
