Sheriff’s office reports

LaFAYETTE — Eight people were arrested in Chambers County over the weekend. According to Chambers County Sheriff’s Office reports,

› Clayton Boyd Roberts, 31, has been charged with assault, first degree, theft of property, first degree, attempting to elude and reckless endangerment;

› Joseph Gene Taylor Miller, 31, of Cusseta, Ala. has been charged with domestic violence, strangulation/suffocation;

› Johnny Lee Wright, 64, of LaFayette has been charged with certain persons being forbidden to carry a firearm;

› Jeffery Mark Welcher, 56, of Camp Hill, Ala. has been charged with domestic violence, third degree;

› Annie Lee Holloway, 58, of LaFayette has been charged with failure to pay for NWNI (bad checks);

› Brandon James O’Steen, 27, of Valley has been charged with assault, second degree;

› Charles A. Lovelace, 47, of West Point has been charged with promoting prison contraband, second degree, and

› Jacob Dell Craft, 23, of Lanett has been charged with theft of property, second degree.

A total of 171 inmates were in the Chambers County jail Monday morning.

Valley REPORTS

VALLEY — Six people were arrested in Valley over the weekend. According to Valley Police Department reports,

› Bennie Lee Mattney, 41, of Valley has been charged with attempting to elude;

› River Davis, 19, of Lanett has been charged with the unlawful distribution of marijuana, second degree;

› Tiara Cook, 32, of Opelika, Ala. has been charged with bail jumping, second degree;

› Jason Newton, 40, of Valley has been charged with the unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal trespassing, third degree, and

› Lorraine Davis, 49, of Valley has been charged with domestic violence, third degree.

In incidents being investigated by Valley police, theft of property, fourth degree, was reported on the 2000 block of Judge Brown Road, and theft of property, third degree, was reported on the 2300 block of 34th Street.

West Point REPORTS

WEST POINT — One person was arrested in West Point over the weekend. According to West Point Police Department reports,

› John David Abner of West Point has been charged with theft by taking.

In incidents being investigated by West Point officers, criminal damage to property was reported on Highway 29, criminal trespassing was reported on Frank Hall Jr. Street, fraud was reported on East 10th Street and someone making terroristic threats was reported on East 5th Avenue.

LaFayette REPORTS

LaFAYETTE — Two people were arrested in LaFayette over the weekend. According to LaFayette Police Department reports,

› Willie Frank Philpott, 50, has been charged with theft of property, fourth degree, and

› Tracy Kyles, 44, has been charged with driving under the influence.
