VALLEY — Mr. Franklin Lee Black Jr., 59, of Valley, Ala. passed away on August 22, 2018 at EAMC-Lanier Nursing Home in Valley. He was born on July 1, 1959 to Franklin and Gwen Black in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Lee was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a helicopter crew chief.

After his military service, Lee worked for several different WestPoint Pepperell operations as a loom technician.

Lee enjoyed hunting and was also a “Muscle Car” enthusiast.

Lee was preceded in death by his father, Franklin Black; his grandparents, M.D. and Mary Potts and grandmother, Mattie Black.

He is survived by his mother, Gwen Potts; wife Linda Black, brother Jim Dodgen, sisters Lisa Dodgen and Elaine Marshall; children Franklin Richardson, Jeffery Richardson, and Kayla Black; and grandchildren Colton Dean Parker and James Garry Morgan.

Visitation will be held at Bluffton Funeral Services in Lanett, Ala. on Monday August 27, 2018 at 10 a.m. EDT followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m., also at Bluffton Funeral Services. Interment will be on Monday August 27,2018 at 2:30 p.m. EDT at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, Ala. Rev. John Samanie will officiate.
