Mr. Leonard Dawson Curry

VALLEY — Mr. Leonard Dawson Curry, 65, of Valley, Ala. passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 31st, 2018 in Columbus, Ga.  He was born on November 16, 1952 at Fort Benning, Ga.

Mr. Curry is survived by his wife of 44 years, Paula Meigs Curry of Valley, Ala.; his two daughters, Michelle (Rodney) Dozier and Lisa (Derek) Hubbard, both of Valley; his two grandsons, Austin Hubbard and Andrew Hubbard, both of Valley; his brother, Stanley Curry of Billings, Montana; his sister, Janet (David) Dobson of LaFayette, Ala.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin L. Curry; his mother, Annie Ree Curry; and his sister, Nancy Curry.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 2 p.m. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. Derek Hubbard officiating.  Interment will follow in Fairfax Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 12 noon until the service hour.

Mr. Curry was employed with Kia (KMMG) of West Point, Ga. for the past 10 years.  He was previously employed with West Point Stevens at the Martex warehouse for 35 years.  In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and listening to his music and being with family and friends.  He was an avid Georgia Bulldog and Alabama Crimson Tide fan. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
