Mrs. Barbara Wilson Crawford

PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. — Mrs. Barbara Wilson Crawford, 82, of Pine Mountain, Ga. passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018 at the Wellstar-West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, Ga.

Mrs. Crawford was born on February 21, 1936 in Lanett, Ala. to the late Robert and Mattie Pearl Hamilton Wilson.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bob Crawford.

Mrs. Crawford was a member of the Langdale United Methodist Church in Valley, Ala., where she was a dedicated member of the church and served the Lord diligently.

She graduated from Lanett High School as valedictorian of her senior class. She worked for the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in Birmingham, Ala, before serving in various roles at WestPoint Stevens.

Her twin grandchildren, Lane and Laura Bentley, were the light of her life. She loved her family land – Crawford and Son Farms, loved cheering on the Auburn Tigers, and loved her church and her church family.

She is survived by her son, Robert Clayton “Clay” Crawford and his wife, Kathryn Lane Crawford; grandchildren, Lane Wilson Crawford, Laura Bentley Crawford Snowden and her husband, Jake Snowden; a niece, Bobby Ann (John) McCollough; nephews Trey (Vicki) Hodges and Manley (Annette) Hodges, and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, and one great-great niece and two great-great nephews, along with many beloved cousins and friends.  Special extended family of in-laws include the Steve Brazell family and the Tommy Lane family.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 3 p.m. EDT at the Langdale United Methodist Church with interment following in Resthaven Cemetery.  The Reverends Rusty Tate, Paul Messer, and James Haskins will officiate the service. Her family will be receiving friends at the church Tuesday evening from 5 p,m. until 7 p.m. EDT.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made in her name to the LUMC Debt Retirement Fund.
