Mrs. Luellar “Piano Red” Cammon

LANETT — Mrs. Luellar H. Cammon, a resident of Lanett, Ala., died Sunday, August 19, 2018 at her residence.  Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 1 p.m. EDT from Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, Lanett, with Dr. Lamar D. Johnson, pastor/officiant and Rev. Keith Moore, eulogist, presiding. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Lanett. Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley is directing.

Public viewing is scheduled for Friday, August 24, 2018 from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel.

A dedicated member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, Mrs. Cammon was a member of the Women’s Adult Sunday School Class and the Cuisine Ministry.  She served as the church organist and minister of music for many years.  During previous years, she served as musician for several churches in Chambers County and also as the musician for the Bowen East District Association and Women’s Convention.

Mrs. Cammon was affectionately known as “Piano Red.” Her survivors include:  her loving and devoted son, Jerome Cammon, Sr.,  Lanett; one grandson, Jerome (Marie) Cammon, Jr., Rhode Island; four great-grandchildren, Anthony Cammon, Layla Cammon, Miley Cammon and Charley Cammon all of Rhode Island; one sister, Sadie (Rev. James) Whitted, Montgomery, Ala.; one sister-in-law, Patricia Howard, Las Vegas, Nevada; a special niece, Felicia Whitted; two special nephews, Darryl Whitted and Gregory Woody; a dedicated caregiver, Wanda F. Davis Constantine; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; and her beloved pet, Trouble.  Online condolences can be expressed at www.davismemorialmortuary.com.
