Mrs. Edna Grace “Gracie” Eastridge

Mrs. Edna Grace “Gracie” Eastridge, age 73, of Valley passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018 at her residence.

Miss Gracie was born on January 19th, 1945 in Roanoke, Alabama to the late Cecil “Coot” Harris and Athie Irene Todd Harris.  She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Jean and Dean Harris; brothers, Bobby Harris, Raymond “Rabbit” Harris, and Norman Harris.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Wayne Eastridge; children, Carey Wayne (Michelle) Eastridge, Carla (Kevin) Anthony, Melissa (David) Blanks; siblings, Carolyn Davis, Homer Harris, Tony Harris.  She was “Ganma” to eight grandchildren, Kristen, EveLyn, Kelan, Eli, Maggie, Ashlyn, Ally, and Anna.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 30th, 2018 at 3:00P.M. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley with interment in Fairfax Cemetery.  The Reverend Wally Armstrong officiating.  The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00P.M. EDT until the service hour.

Miss Gracie worked for the Lafayette Lanier Elementary School where she worked in the lunchroom.

She was a member of the Sweet Home United Methodist Church in LaFayette, Alabama.  Over the years, she also attended Johnsons Chapel and Faith Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school.

She loved to sew, she loved to garden, and enjoyed seeing her flowers each spring and summer.

Miss Gracie was a faithful and loving wife of 49 years to Wayne and she loved her family and grandchildren.
