The precautionary boil water advisory issued for City of West Point Water System users on Wednesday has been canceled.

According to a press release from the city, laboratory testing has concluded that no bacteriological contamination of the city’s water system occurred in conjunction with the low water pressure experience on Oct. 3 when a water main ruptured.

The water main break occurred at approximately 1:05 a.m. Wednesday morning at the intersection of Roper Ave. and W 15 St, 200 yards outside of the West Point water plant, according to the city’s Utility Director Sammy Inman.
