LaFayette man killed in weekend accident

LaFAYETTE — The Alabama Highway Patrol is reporting that a LaFayette man was killed following a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning.

Corporal Jess Thornton of the Alex City Highway Patrol Post reported that at 2:10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, William Jason Hill, 38, of LaFayette, was killed when his 2003 Ford F-150 left the roadway, striking a tree and catching fire. The crash occurred on U.S. 431 near the 157 mile marker, approximately one mile south of LaFayette.

Hill was pronounced dead at the scene.
