Mr. Donald “Donnie” Sanks

COLUMBUS, Ga. — Mr. Donald “Donnie,”  a.k.a. “Ms. Pam,”  Sanks, a resident of Columbus, Ga. and former resident of Salem, Ala., died  Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018 at Kindred Hospice in Columbus.  Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, Oct. 12, 2018 at 3 p.m. EDT from New Wesley C.M.E. Church, 4944 Lee Road 379, Salem, AL 36874 with Pastor Douglas Perry officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery, Salem.  Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley is directing. Public viewing is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018 at Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel, 305 W.F. Burns Drive, Valley, Ala. from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. EDT.

Mr. Sanks’  survivors include his loving mother, Mary Sanks Kelly, Salem, Ala.; three brothers, Bobby (Jeanette) Sanks, Salem, Ala., Don (Gwendolyn) Sanks, Columbus, Ga. and Michael Pope, Opelika, Ala.; three sisters, Gloria Owens, Auburn, Ala., Rebecca S. Holloway, LaFayette, Ala. and Betty Ann (Franklin) Knight, Opelika; special aunts, Myrtis (Bill) Williams, Petersburg, Va. and Dorothy Brown, Columbus; godson Roosevelt Rampley, Columbus; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends Susan Lurrew, Red Frazier, Ms. Tweet and a special close friend, Ransom Farley.  Online condolences can be expressed at www.davismemorialmortuary.com.
