Mrs. Kathy Angela Daugherty

VALLEY — Kathy Angela Daugherty, 54, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018.

Kathy was born Nov. 6, 1963 in Roanoke, Ala. to the late Luvenia Satterwhite and Harvey Cunningham. After her parents’ death, she was raised by Joyce Butler and William (Billy) Butler.

Kathy was married to Charles Daugherty for 37 years. They had two children of their own, Chad Daugherty and Chase Daugherty (Jessica Daugherty), and an adopted daughter, Sierra Hartman.  Kathy and Charles had one grandson, Tyler Daugherty. She had one brother, Hurley (Jennifer) Cunningham and two sisters, Daphne (Tim) Foster and Vickie (Kevin) Blanks. She is also survived by her grandmother, Elsie Butler.

Kathy spent many years in the nursing field. Her true love was caring for the elderly.  She had a passion for nursing and loved caring for other people.

Kathy loved her boys and her grandson plus her daughter-in-law that she considered to be her own as well.  One of her favorite things besides spending time with family gardening. She touched many people’s lives and will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. EDT on Thursday, October 4th at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley with Dr. Darren White and the Rev. Rusty Letson officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Lanett. The family will be receiving friends Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
