LaFAYETTE — Mrs. Maggie C. Smith, a former resident of Montgomery, Ala., passed away after a short illness on September 27, 2018. She was predeceased by her husband, B. Gene Smith, and is survived by their two daughters, Gena Smith Miller and Twyla Smith Stamps-McGovern. Mrs. Smith is survived by her five grandchildren, several beloved great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.

Mrs. Smith was a retired executive of Associates Finance Company, and a former member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church. Visitation will take place at 10 a.m. CDT on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018 at the Pleasant Grove Church in LaFayette, Ala. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m.

A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. CDT on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Ala. 36109.

Rev. Floyd Carmack will give the service at Pleasan Grove, and Rev. Larry Armstrong will preside over the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for the Pleasant Grove Cemetery Fund and may be delivered to 4472 County Road 53, LaFayette, Ala. 36862.
