LANETT, Ala. — Ms. Geraldine Davenport, 72, of Lanett, Ala. passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018 at WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Ga. Ms. Davenport was born Nov. 5, 1945 in Hamilton, Ga.

Geraldine received her formal education in the Harris County Public School System. She was retired from WestPoint Pepperell with over 25 years of service. After retiring from WestPoint Pepperell, she became employed by Point University, where she remained until her passing.

Geraldine enjoyed fellowshipping with the various churches throughout the area. She loved spending time with family and friends. She always greeted you with a smile.

She was preceded in death by parents, William and Fannie Ruth Sturdivant Davenport and a sister, Katie Ruth Miller. Ms. Davenport is survived by her devoted son, Horace (Darlene) Davenport, Jacksonville, Fla.; two grandchildren, LaToya Davenport, West Palm Beach, Fla. and Joshlyn Davenport, Baltimore, MD; two brothers, Willie “Pete” Davenport, Lanett and William “Buck” (Janice) Davenport, LaGrange, Ga.; one sister, Cora McClain, Cataula, Ga. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Ms. Davenport will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018 at 2 p.m. EDT in the chapel of M.W. Lee Mortuary.
