LANETT — Funeral services for Ida Alvis, 73, of Lanett, Ala. will be at 1 p.m. EST, Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, at Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, 5231 County Road 389, Cusseta, AL 36852 with interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Arthur Thomas will officiate.

Mrs. Alvis, who passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018 at her home in Lanett, She was born Feb.  13, 1945 in Chambers County, Ala.

Public viewing will be Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. EST. Mrs. Alvis will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

Survivors include three brothers, Tommie L. Alford of Opelika, Ala., Harvey Gene Alford and Willie Joe (Patsy) Alford, Jr., both of Lanett;  a loving and devoted granddaughter, Jessica Long; four great-grandchildren, Jalyn Long, Jamarian Whatley, Janiyah Thomas and Ja’Miracle Bailey; a step-granddaughter, Makela Dozier; her pastor whom she loved so dearly, Rev. Arthur Thomas; her special radio personality, Bro. Johnny Hill (WPLV 1310); the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church family, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
