Mrs. Margie Wilder

VALLEY — Mrs. Margie Wilder, 90, of Valley, Ala. passed away on Monday, Nov. 5, 2018 at the EAMC-Lanier Nursing Home in Valley. She was born on May 25, 1928 in Cullman, Ala.

Mrs. Wilder is survived by her three children, Jack Barber, Jr., Annette M. Rider, and Harry Wade Barber; her eleven grandchildren, David Conaway, Greta Wilson, Jack Barber, III, Nathanael Barber, Jonathan Barber, Jason Barber, Monica Barber, Jamie Barber, Kimberly Rider, Leslie Hood and Abby Barber, and her twenty-five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Barber, Sr. and Charles Wilder, and her son, Homer Evert Barber.

Mrs. Wilder was a member of Happy Valley Baptist Church in Lanett. She was a former employee of Shawmut Mill and in her later years worked as a care giver. She had been in declining health for the past several years.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 9, 2018 at 1 p.m. EST at the Sweet Home United Methodist Church in LaFayette, Ala. Harry Barber and Nathanael Barber will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. EST at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Sweet Home United Methodist Church in her memory.
