Six arrested in two drug busts in Valley and LaFayette

The Chambers County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force executed two search warrants on Thursday and Friday, resulting in six arrests. The Thursday arrests were in Valley and Friday’s arrests were in LaFayette.

According to a press release, Richard Earl Shaddix, 42, Emily Nichole Smith, 36, Michael Wayne Fulghum, 39 and Laurie Pearl Disko Schofield, 45, were arrested on drug charges Thursday and are all from Valley.

All suspects were arrested on possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The press release said Shaddix and Fulghum were also charged with possession of a controlled substance. Smith faced additional charges of possession of marijuana, first degree.

Schofield is also charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana, second degree.

Agents with the task force were able to obtain a search warrant for 408 Lafayette Street in Valley. After the arrests, the suspects were taken to the Chambers County Detention Facility.

According to the press release, on Friday morning, Raymond Greer, 70 and Yvonia Greer, 67, both of LaFayette were arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Raymond Greer faces an additional charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Both individuals were arrested Friday morning after the task force executed a search warrant at 4396 County Road 158 in LaFayette.

Agents seized crack cocaine, hydrocodone pills, U.S. cash, drug paraphernalia and two handguns.
