Organizers admitted that the crowds at Saturday’s St. Patrick’s Day event weren’t quite what they were looking for.

The cold weather probably played a role in the smaller crowd. It seems like Mother Nature can’t seem to make up her mind on whether winter is truly over, even though Wednesday was the first day of spring.

Regardless of the final ticket count, the Greater Valley Area Chamber of Commerce deserves a big thank you from the community for putting on St. Patty’s On the River.

It included fun for all ages and gave families something to do together. Plenty of people stuck it out through the cold too.

And for the record, everyone who did go appeared to have a ton of fun. That’s what really matters.

We are hopeful St. Paddy’s Day on the River will return again in 2020, hopefully with better weather. Thank you to everyone who played a part in putting it on.
