Local councils now full

On Monday, Charlotte Blasingame was sworn into the LaFayette City Council and Deedee Williams was appointed to the West Point City Council, ending a dizzying period of council appointment and elections in the Greater Valley Area.
Blasingame had to get through two elections, but managed to do so and will now represent District B in LaFayette. Williams was picked among three candidates who put in applications for the seat.
In February, the Valley City Council appointed Jim Clark and Candace Lyons was sworn in as the newest Chambers County Board of Education member.
And yes, we needed a checklist to keep up with all of that.
It’s a positive that all of the local boards are now completely full, providing more representation for locals. We wish all of the new representatives luck as they move into their new positions.
