NEW YORK, N.Y. — Mr. Rufus Walker, 64, of New York, New York passed away on Friday, March 29, 2019, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 6, 2019, noon CDT at Friendship Baptist Church No. 1 in LaFayette with the Rev. Cornelius Reese Jr., pastor, officiating, and Mr. Bill Martin Jr. serving as the eulogist. Burial will follow in Handy Memorial Cemetery in LaFayette.

Mr. Walker is survived by his wife, Barbara Martin; children Teisha Martin, Cynthia Williams, Evita Williams and Gail Martin, all of New York, New York; two brothers, John Walker of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Linwood Walker of Durham, North Carolina., four sisters: Olivia Walker of Paterson, New Jersey, Rowena Walker of Shiloh, North Carolina, Teresa Walker of Longwood, North Carolina and Georgia Walker of Durham, North Carolina and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
