Mrs. Beverly “Baby Doll” Satchell 1949-2019

WEST POINT — Mrs. Beverly “Baby Doll” Satchell, 60, of West Point, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019,  at Pruitt Health Care, Greenville, Georgia. Mrs. Satchell was born August 17, 1949, in Atlanta to the late Mattie Lou Graham and Percy Flemister.

Beverly received her education in the West Point public school system and graduated from Harrison High School. After high school she relocated to Long Island, New York, where she lived for more than 30 years. While living in New York, she accepted her Lord and Savior under the ministry of the late Rev. Schambach. She later united with the St. Paul AME Church under the leadership of Rev. Kim Singletary. She was a faithful and dedicated member, Beverly was employed as a nurse at Mercy Medical Center for many years.

White in New York, she met and married Lawrence F. Satchell, who preceded her in death.

“Baby Doll,” as she was known to many, was a sharp dresser. She would be matching from head to toe. She would spend hours shopping at the mall and various retail stores.

Beverly’s pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending quality time with them.

A celebration of life service for Mrs. Satchell will be held Friday, April 5, 2019, at 10 a.m. EDT at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Dr. W.T. Edmondson, pastor, Rev. Troy Thomas, eulogist, Rev. Maxine Thomas and Rev. Gary Fanning presiding. The remains will lie in state at the church on Friday, April 5 from 9 a.m. until the service hour.

Interment will be held at a later date at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, New York. The family will receive friends at the residence of Ms. Julia Flemister, 1202-B, East 11th Street, West Point.
