PENTON, Ala. — Mr. Billy Ray Mann, 81, of Penton died Wednesday May 3, 2019, at his home.

He was born in Penton on March 7, 1938, to the late Cletus Mann and the late Ethel Phillips Mann, He served in the National Guard and had retired from the Lance Cracker Company.

He was a farmer and was a member of the Penton Church of God.

Funeral services were held Sunday May 5, 2019, at 3 p.m. CDT at the Penton Church Of God with burial following in the church cemetery. The Rev. Mike Campbell and the Rev. Ray Dunn officiated. Visitation was held at the church on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m., prior to the service.

Mr. Mann is survived by his wife of 61 years, Geneva Mann; two 2 children, Wygelia (Joe) Sims and Jeff Mann; three sisters, Nell Cates, Carol (Calvin Jr.) Hinkle and Joan Lawson, three grandchildren, Jasmine Lambert, Julie (N.B.) Freeman, and Joshua Mann, five great grandchildren, Jacob Lambert, Kacey Lambert, Jonathon Freeman, Joseph Freeman and Jesse Freeman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; three other brothers, Jack Mann, Tom Mann, Karon Mann and a sister, Cathryne Gunn.
