VALLEY — Mr. Brackeen “Brad” Whaley, 78, a resident of Valley, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019, at his residence.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at 3 p.m. ET from Johnson Brown­-Service Funeral Home in Valley with burial to follow at Fairfax Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Whaley is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nellie S. Whaley; two sons, Barry Whaley (Susie) and Tony Whaley (Debra); eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Breedlove, Brenda Caldwell and Mable Grimes; two brothers, Leonard Whaley and Mike Whaley, and several nieces, nephews and his extended family and friends.

Mr. Whaley was born in Randolph County on Feb. 8, 1941. Memorial contributions may be made to Compassus Hospice or to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
