VALLEY — Mr. Clinton Smith, 81, of Valley passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019, at Valley Park Manor Assisted Living.  He was born on June 1,  1937, in Shawmut.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 65 years, Pat Smith; his two daughters, Lisa Smith and Tracie (Russell) Newton; his two grandchildren, Haley Newton and Hunter (Kasi) Newton; his two great grandchildren, Tanner Newton and Turner Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Smith and Odell Hawkins; his brother, Hugh Smith; his three sisters, Charlene Hawkins, Elaine Plair and Wilodean Moody.

Mr. Smith was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shawmut.  He served in the U.S. Army for two years and worked for WestPoint Pepperell for over 40 years. He was a loving husband, father, and granddaddy.

A memorial service wrll be held Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at 11 a.m. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Pastor John Samanie will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
