Mr. Milton J. “Red” George — 1936-2019

Mr. Milton J. “Red” George, 82, of Valley, passed away on July 14 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika. He was born on Nov. 18, 1936, in Chambers County.
George is survived by his four children, Dena Caruso, Elizabeth Sapp, Cynthia Fulghum, and Clifton George; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna George; his son, Christopher George, and two granddaughters.
George retired from the U.S. Armed Forces after serving over 24 years in the Army and Air Force. He was also a retired employee of West Point Pepperell. He enjoyed talking and never met a stranger. He loved being around his family, especially his great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on July 19 at 2 p.m. EDT at the graveside in Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 AL-165, Fort Mitchell 36856. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley.
