Mrs. Mary Alice James, 69, of LaFayette, passed away on Aug. 1.

Funeral Services will be held on Aug. 7 at 2 p.m. CDT at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in LaFayette, the Rev. Michael Stiggers, Sr., Pastor/Officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Church No. 2 Cemetery in LaFayette.

James is survived by two sons, Michael (Gloria) Wright, of Camp Hill, and Andrew James, Jr. (Pam), of Auburn; two daughters, Alicia James (Stanley) and Gwen James (Jimmy), both of  LaFayette; a special son who was like her own, Marcus Sims (Tiffani), of Montgomery; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two brothers, Willie Wright of LaFayette and Bill Wright of Birmingham; one brother-in-law, George James (Maggie) of Five Points; and two sisters-in-Laws, Mae Thelma (Jimmy) McCoy, of LaFayette and Lue Nell (Lovell) Staples, of Atlanta; a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and raised and treated just like her own, special niece, Flora Harrington.
