Mrs. Nina Mae Hardnett, 70 of LaFayette, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 12, 2019, at 1 p.m. CST at Christian Memorial Church in Roanoke, the Rev. Burnett J. Jackson, pastor; the Rev. Thomas Staples, officiating; Apostle Earnest Parham, eulogist.

Burial will follow in Sky View Memorial Gardens in Five Points.

Mrs. Hardnett is survived by her husband, Vernel “Vernon” Hardnett of LaFayette, five sons: Cleveland Jr. Staples of LaFayette, Richard Staples (Annie) of Opelika, Dwight Staples (Ann) of Alexander City, Vernon Jr. Hardnett (Tara) of LaFayette and Dewayne Hardnett (Conny) of Wedowee, six daughters: Theresa Pridgon (William) of Opelika, Cindy Heard and Shonda Reid (Harold), both of Roanoke, Shirley Tucker (Robert) of LaGrange, Prescilla Hardnett of Opelika, and Janice Hardnett of LaGrange, one brother, Joe Lewis McPherson (Katie) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, three sisters, Charlotte Parker of Wedowee, Minnie Bell (the Rev. Brady) of Roanoke and Linda Jackson (John) of LaFayette, 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
