Mrs. Ruth Hinkle — 1921-2019

Mrs. Ruth Hinkle, 98, of LaFayette, died on Aug. 29 at the LaFayette Nursing Home.
Mrs. Hinkle was born in Chambers County on Feb. 9, 1921, to the late Jesse C. Ragsdale and the late Effie Birchfield Ragsdale. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in LaFayette and retired from Billy Walton Law Office.
She is survived by her two daughters, Shelby (Robert) Lee and Shirley (Nick) Koulianos, both of LaFayette; three grandchildren, Michelle (Tony) Cooper, of Spanish Fort, Robin (Greg) Owings, of Birmingham and Rob (Katlin) Lee, of LaFayette; four great-grandchildren, Ross Cooper, Lincoln Cooper, Dylan Owings and Hannah Owings.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter B. Hinkle; son, Bobby Joe Hinkle; and daughter-in-law, Addie Hinkle.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Compasses Hospice 4455 Highway 431Roanoke 36274 or the First Baptist Church in LaFayette.
Funeral services will be held on Aug. 31 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with a private burial to follow at the LaFayette City Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Ferguson and the Rev. Mike Campbell officiating.
Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. before the service.
