Ms. Annie Lou Heard, 94, of Lanett, died on Aug. 25 at Columbus Regional-Piedmont Healthcare in Columbus, Georgia. Funeral services will be held at Greenwood Baptist Church in Lanett on Aug. 30 at 1 p.m. EDT with the Rev. James McTier, Jr., officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the church from noon EDT until the funeral hour. Public viewing will be at Vines Funeral Home on Aug. 29 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. EDT.

Ms. Heard is survived by six children, Willie Joe Tucker, Michael (Cherre) Heard, Johnny (Carol) Heard and Betty Lou Winston, all of Lanett, Patricia Hugley, of West Point and Gloria Ayrtey, of Atlanta; one sister, Ethel Winston, of Melbourne, Florida; 25 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; three special relatives, JC Goss and Willie Robert (Mattie) Goss, both of Lanett ,and Katie Mae Goss, of Boston; a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
