Ms. Chatwila “Tweety” Elfrienda Smith — 1958-2019

Ms. Chatwila “Tweety” Elfrienda Smith, of Lanett, crossed over Jordan to be led home by her Lord and Savior on Aug. 24, at the age of 61. Funeral services are scheduled for Aug. 28, at 3:30 p.m. from Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Dalton Hammock, officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lanett. Davis Memorial Mortuary, directing. Public viewing is scheduled for Aug. 27 beginning at 1 p.m. and culminating with the visitation of family and friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel.
Ms. Smith was born Feb. 8, 1958, in Langdale, the daughter of the late Houston J. Hill and Beatrice Sheppard Hill of Huguley. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Houston M. Hill and Timothy A. Hill.
Her survivors include her son, Justin Wayne Hill, of Lanett; her daughter, Amanda (Chris) Nelson, of LaGrange; grandchildren, Clessa Hill, Joshua Pressley and Addie Pressley; brother, Iverson Ellis (Judy) Hill, of Valley (Beulah Community); sisters, Glenda Waldrep, of Lanett, Janice Hudson, of Cusseta, and Hilda (Woody) Branning, of Slocomb; and, a host of special nieces & nephews and great-nieces & great-nephews.
Tweety was an avid baker throughout her lifetime beginning at an early age and continued to her pursuit of her passion for culinary arts; expanding from catering to her family and close friends to making it her lifelong career. She had over 20 years of employment in foodservice, which led to the finalization of her career by becoming the proud owner of Tweety’s Cafe. She enjoyed spending her days catering to her customers whom she loved dearly and considered family.
Her children and grandchildren were the highlights of her life, and she loved spending time with them making precious memories. She also had a very close relationship with her brother and three sisters. She was loved dearly by her nieces and nephews and was known as their secret keeper.
The Family requests in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Davis Memorial Mortuary to help cover final expenses. Family and friends will be gathering at the home of Amanda Nelson.
