Miss Essence Gerrionna Todd — 2000-2019

Published 1:17 am Saturday, September 7, 2019

On May 19, 2000, a beautiful baby girl was born and given the name, Essence Gerrionna Todd. She was the daughter of the proud parents, Tiffany (Earl) McCullough and Pedro Davidson. Essence was known to many as “Pooh,” “Esco,” and “Sco,” to name a few.

“Pooh”  would brighten a room when she walked in, speaking with a tiny voice and a “glowing smile.”  She always had an awesome effect on the people around her. She was always joking, carrying out her silly pranks, and rubbing off her friendly spirit.  If you ever had the chance to be around her, you knew…there would never be a dull moment or bad day.  Her love was cheesecake, fashion and Gucci Mane.

“Pooh” was a 2018 graduate of Troup County Comprehensive High School in LaGrange. After graduation, she attended Georgia Gwinnett College.

She was a hard worker who loved everybody in her own way.

On Sept. 3, Essence was called to her eternal rest. There waiting to meet her were: her loving great-grandmother, Mary Lee Spence; her grandfather, Jill “Poppa” Jones; and her aunt, Satunja “Toot” Johnson.

Essence leaves to cherish her precious memories, her mother, Tiffany (Earl) McCullough, of Valley; father, Pedro (Cynthia) Davidson, of Valley;  sisters, Serenity McCullough, of Valley, Constance Booker, of West Point, Kiana Bailey, of Montgomery and Jasmine Dardy, of Valley; brothers, Kortavious  and Laquarius Trammell, of West Point, Kendarius Spence, of Lanett, Shapez Davidson, of Lanett, and Zaquan Hargett, of West Point; grandmothers, Geraldine Jones, of West Point, Sandra McCullough, of Lanett and Martha Davidson, of West Point; grandfathers, Harrison Williams, of Summerville, South Carolina and Howard Lee Davidson, West Point; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews,  cousins and friends; special friend, Shameria Murphy, who will miss her tremendously.

A homegoing celebration for Essence will be held on Sept. 8 at 2 p.m. EDT in the sanctuary of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in West Point, with the Dr. W. T. Edmondson, pastor, eulogist, Minister Stephanie Davenport, assisting. Interment will follow in the Marseilles Cemetery.

The remains will lie in state at the church on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour. The family may be contacted at the residence of Mrs. Geraldine Jones, 1502 Higgins Circle, West Point.
