Mr. Darian K. Brown, of Columbus, and former resident of Valley, died on Sept. 10 in Lanett. 

Funeral services are scheduled for Sept. 18 at 1 p.m. from Bethlehem Baptist Church in West Point, Dr. Willie T. Edmondson, Pastor and Rev. Dequindrae Hardnett, Officiant/Eulogist. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Lanett. Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley directing. There will be no public viewing. 

Darian attended Kendrick High School where he was a member of the football team and the ROTC program, where he participated in several rifle competitions. 

At an early age, he accepted Christ and joined Community Baptist Church of Valley under the leadership of the Rev. David Core, Sr. At the time of his death, he was a member of New Destiny Church in Columbus. 

His survivors include loving parents, Alonzo and Charmeka Brown and Antonio Tucker (Norshai); siblings, Alona Brown, Marquez Tucker, Cameron Tucker and Jordan Tucker; grandparents, Charlie Howell (Phyllis), Linda Davidson (Virgil) and Cora Lee Tucker; great-grandmothers, Bertha Brown and Mary Frances Mitchell; aunt, Brandi Pollard (Trent); uncles, Tierra Brown, Recarlis Howard (Shelby) and Marince Reid (Nevada); great-aunts and great-uncles; special cousin, Alyssa Jackson; special friend, Angelica Whitlow; and, a host of cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
