Mr. Rufus Ray “Bud” Lynch — 1933-2019

Mr. Rufus Ray “Bud” Lynch, of Lanett, went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 6 at the age of 85.
Mr. Lynch was born on Sept. 16, 1933, in Conecuh County, the son of the late Herbert Lee Lynch and Stella Mae Coleman Lynch of Conecuh County.
His survivors include his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Lynch; his daughters, Brenda Lynch and Teresa (David) Blandin; grandchildren, Tricia Foster, Daniel (Tishana) Denny, Tiffany (Chad) Choron and Deidra (Matthew) Denny; great-grandchildren, Triston Howell, Clessa Hill, Olivia Moncus, William Denny and Wyatt Denny.
Bud never met a stranger. He treated everyone like family and made sure they felt welcome and loved. He was a deacon at Happy Valley Baptist Church and cared very deeply for his church family. He was a veteran and proudly served his country in the Korean War. For 36 years, he was a long haul trucker for West Point Stevens.
Bud’s world revolved around his family. He was happiest when surrounded by those he loved. He delighted in watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play and laugh. He will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held on Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. EDT at Happy Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. John Samanie and the Rev. Floyd Akins officiating.
