Do you hear what I hear? Oops. The feelings and hearings of events are really throwing a spotlight on activities for this season.

Join Teen-Jammin’, ages 13 to 18, Back to School Books will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14. This free event will be on the grounds of Goodsell UMC in Lanett. Featuring local music artists James “Boomer” Harris and Full Armor No Limits.

There will be games and food. For more information, contact (334) 476-3213 or (706) 957-9722. Be there and be careful. Also, Goodsell UMC is bringing to focus an enrichment program. We pray you are going to enjoy this season and God’s many blessings with the youth rally. They are reaching out to support communities in education and books. Church budgets do not support school enrichment and programs, so they are reaching out to communities and volunteers with the event. They are grateful in advance for the Lanier High School Community. Please contact Youth Leader Natalie Fannings at (334) 476-3213, or Reiko Williams, mission and outreach coordinator.

Riverview Community get ready. Please make plans for the Riverview Reunion on Oct. 19. Plans have been made to reunite with former and current residents, those who attended Riverview schools, and those who have ties to Riverivew have one big day of fun. You will have the opportunity to meet some of Riverview’s most notable historians and listen to their stories while visiting the cafeteria of Riverview school.

Also, there will be fun and entertainment on the old Riverview ballfield where tents and grills will be neatly aligned while gazing at the Chattahoochee. Keep watch of the paper for more updates in regards to the Riverview Reunion.

Team WHIP (Working to Help those In Pink) is announcing that on Oct. 26, they have set aside this day for their Fifth Annual Breast Cancer Walk. T-shirts will be pre-order only. Let’s help paint the town pink and support the cause.
